Matthew Norton Wise is a professor in the history of science at UCLA. He is also the co-director of the UCLA Center for Society and Genetics. He has famously attacked Gross and Levitt's book in which they perceive the obstruction of science by the Academic Left.
In the fourth term of the academical year 2004/5 he taught at Utrecht University and he is spending much of his time at the Berlin Max Planck Institute.
